Self aware and yet "dumb".

« The curse of being self-aware and still committing foolish actions »

Emotional intelligence, questionable decisions.

There’s a certain irony in catching yourself mid-downfall - fully conscious, beautifully articulate, and still falling.

I’ve always admired people who could detach, pause, analyse. The ones who say ‘’this isn’t good for me’’ and then don’t text back. But then there’s me: hyper-aware emotionally literate, able to write a whole essay on why this isn’t love… while simultaneously reapplying cologne and heading to their place.

So… do we really evolve, or do we just learn how to justify the mess?

That’s the new curse of our generation, isn’t it? We journal. We meditate. We dissect our trauma like it’s a thesis? We screenshot conversations and circle the red flags like it’s a true crime scene. But despite all the awareness, all the therapy-lingo and moon-phase wisdom, we still do the thing we swore we wouldn’t.

We say, ‘’I deserve better’’… then accept the bare minimum wrapped in voice notes and late-night attention.

We say, ‘’I’m focusing on myself’’… then rearrange our entire weekends for a maybe.

We romanticize toxicity with zodiac disclaimers; ‘’It’s not me, it’s just that I’m a Cancer with a Scorpio moon and Venus in retrograde.’’

We’ve evolved emotionally, but our hearts? Still recklessly nostalgic,
And maybe that’s okay.
Because awareness isn’t immunity. It’s not a cure. It’s just a mirror - one that reflets how far we’ve come… and how human we still are.
So yes, I’m self-aware.
And yes, I’ll probably still fall fo the charming wrong one who types with no punctuation and calls me ‘’Are you up?’’
But at least now, I’ll know exactly why i’m spiraling-and I’ll journal about it on the way home.

Maybe the goal isn’t to stop falling…
Just to fall softer.
